Laiba Rahman is the Founding Trustee of the Awaaz Foundation, currently being a sophomore in her pursuit of a bachelor’s degree from Sri Venkateswara college, university of Delhi. She is a profound enthusiast when it comes to giving back to one’s own society. She has an endless history of asserting concise and continuative efforts towards the things she particularly believes in, and unarguably her strongest beliefs remain reserved for adequate social change in terms of equality, justice, and quality of life.
Apart from the undaunted willingness to solve the issues our country remains constrained by, Laiba has briefly understood and acknowledged through her visual interpretations of her societal surroundings that the thick fabric of social inequalities present in our nation does much to supress, marginalize and devalue the existence and the voices of those our society considers to be a burden towards the country’s collective growth. These individuals involve the entire workforce of the country spanning from farming to the logistical industry, consecutively making up the majority of the population. Laiba recognizes these rigorously hardworking individuals as the very backbone that sustains the whole nation’s economic growth and its potential-rich future. With that understanding, she remains invaluably dedicated at actively engaging in any and all kinds of efforts that contribute towards the significant upliftment of all those who remain consequentially buried under the weight of the hammer of inequalities and social injustices. Therefore, she feels that formulation of Awaaz Foundation will act as a catalyst towards her vision to build a Just, Equitable & Democratic Society.
